How to multiply and grow hyacinths at home?

Hyacinth belongs to the lily family.

It includes more than 30 species of various subspecies.

Flowers of the plant can be terry, fragrant and simple.

Suitable for growing at home, home gardens, greenhouses and botanical gardens. Asia is considered the birthplace of the flower.

Growing hyacinths in pots

How to grow hyacinths in pots?

The plant prefers bright diffused light. Dislikes cold winds and drafts.

The soil should be loose, breathable. Humus must be added to the substrate.

In tanks should be a drainage system that will not allow excessive moisture to accumulate. For this suitable claydite, pebbles, shards or broken brick.

After flowering, spike should be cut. In early autumn, watering and dressing reduce to a minimum.

At the beginning of winter, the plant begins a period of rest. At this time, the leaves shrink and die. All the beneficial substances go into the bulb.

TIP: At the beginning of the spring period the soil is mulched with compost. In the same period, reproduction can be carried out.

Breeding

Consider how to propagate hyacinths at home. There are four breeding methods.

Seeds

The reproduction of hyacinths in the home with the help of seeds should be used only for breeding new varieties.

When planting seeds, the plant will bloom only for 6-9 years after planting.

How to grow a hyacinth from seed at home? It is best to tie the planting material in warm weather. It is necessary to choose not yet opened boxes.

It is important that they are amber.

Emerald use is not recommended, as they have not had time to ripen. A week after the assembly, the boxes themselves crack.

Seeds are carefully dried and cleaned of scales. Paper bags are best. Before planting, they must be stored in a cool place.

It is necessary to prepare the container with the substrate. Make small grooves with a depth of no more than 2 cm.

If you sow the seeds deeper - they will not have time to ascend and rot in the soil.

On 1 square. meter sown about 200 seeds. Drainage and sand are poured into the bottom of the tank. This will allow the root system to not rot. After six months, we should expect the first shoots.

IMPORTANT: Seeds must have time to pass the stage of vernalization. Sowing is done in early autumn. The first shoots will appear only in the middle of the next spring.

By the end of the growing season should appear a small onion. It has a pear shape. During the entire period of growth, the soil must be loosened, fertilized, aired, and systematically watered.

TIP: For fertilizing, ammonium nitrate, potassium sulphate or superphosphates can be used.

Bulbs

How to grow a hyacinth from a bulb? For each bulb emit one container with a diameter of 18-20 cm.

A drainage is made of clay petioles in the tank. Fine-grained sea sand is poured at the bottom.

The soil must be fortified with plenty of nutrients.

Onions planted in such a way that 1/3 remained on the soil surface. The seeding depth should not exceed 4 cm. The soil should be loosened, fertilized and watered systematically.

Two years after planting, a full-fledged plant should grow. At 3 or 4 years of life, this representative of the flora blooms. During the entire active growth, the flower needs a temperature of 17-21 ° C. The room should be bright and well ventilated.

TIP: Sick specimens must be removed.

Leaves

In the budding phase, this representative of the flora is allowed to propagate with leaves.

From each flower you can take 2 leaves. They are immediately immersed in a heteroauxin mixture. On 1 liter of water part a tablet half.

Keeping the leaflets in solution takes 6-9 hours.

Then they are planted in containers with the substrate. The soil is mixed with fine-grained sea sand and peat.

ATTENTION: Growth should occur at a temperature of 14-16 ° C. Humidity should not fall below 90%.

After 9-11 days, a callus should appear on the wound surface. A month later, the first rudiments of onions appear. After 60 days, onions should appear young new leaves and root system. After that, the flower must be transplanted into nutrient fortified soil.

One leaf can give from 7 to 10 children.

Double scales

Onions cleaned and dried. In bulbs you need to cut off 1/3 of its height. After that, it is divided into 8 equal parts.

It is important that each part has a small piece of the bottom.

One large bulb can give up to one hundred paired scales. For disinfection of wounds of planting material, it is necessary to use crushed charcoal.

Then the planting material is put in plastic bags with perlite. Perlite is pre-moistened with 1 drop of a mixture of foundationol. Packs tightly tied.

ATTENTION: Storage should be carried out at a temperature of 23-25 ° C.

After 30 days, a callus should appear on the scale cutting line. It forms tubercles — new buds of future onions. Again, they must be processed with baseol and placed in plastic bags.

3-4 months after the division, a root system should form at the planting material. Then each bulb is planted in a substrate of fine-grained sea sand. Tanks are placed in a cold room.

ATTENTION: Growth should occur at a temperature of 9-13 ° C.

Substrate must be constantly hydrated. Periodically it is necessary to wait for the drying of the top layer of soil.
