What kind is it?

Variety King - very young. is he refers to universal forms with super-early ripening. Harvest can be removed in early August. The universal varieties also include Alexander, Druzhba and Krasa Balki.

Breeding history

Kinglet - New Hybrid Subspecies breeder E.G. Pavlovsky. "Parents" - Talisman and Tason (Kherson region). The task was to bring nutmeg, which would not be as vulnerable as many others and would be available even for farmers in those regions where the winters are harsh.

Judging by the preliminary results of tests and reviews of farmers, this variety is still afraid of cold; such a result of frost resistance as with Super Extra varieties, Krasa Sever, Alex could not be achieved because the range of its distribution hardly rises north of Ukraine and the Krasnodar Territory.

Specifications

Outwardly, it resembles its "parent" - Tasona, without inheriting, fortunately, increased pain. The grapes are frost resistant - up to -25 degrees Celsius, almost invulnerable to wasps.

Very stable to gray rot, real and downy mildew, slightly lower - to phylloxera. Sugar content is 19-21%.

Problematic compatibility with stocks. The yield is moderate, as the variety is capricious for weather conditions, afraid of rainstorms and spring frosts.

Matures almost the entire length of growth. It is impossible to unequivocally say about the other qualities - the variety is being tested in Belarus.

Requires mandatory shelter for the winter months. Foot and extra shoots need to be cut, leaving normally up to 45 eyes on a bush.

Diseases and pests

Kinglet not afraid of fungiand this is its undoubted plus. His not even scary wasps, but the varieties resistant to birds have not yet been bred. Therefore, from the birds will protect the mesh fence, which would be an obstacle for Ptah, but not a trap.

Bacterial cancer. Rarely, but still this attack can hit King.

Therefore, the bush should be thinned, fertilized, more careful with the seedlings - any wound or scratch on the bark can be the "foundation" for grape oncology.

Sick bushes have not yet learned to heal - just to root out. In order to protect plants from diseases such as anthracnose, chlorosis, oidium and mildew, preventive measures should be taken in a timely manner. About them you can read in detail in the relevant materials.

Another enemy can declare itself - phylloxera. The way to deal with it is quite extreme, as it threatens the grapes themselves, but effective is spraying with a carbon disulfide compound.

Moreover, if you make a dose of carbon disulfide small, there will be no sense from such treatment.

Farmers are advised not to lower it below 80 cc. per square meter.

Grapes can not boast of either too large clusters, or high yields, and frost resistance is still in question. Proven high-yielding varieties Podarok Magarach, Jubilee of Kherson Summer Resident and Dombkovskaya Memory have their advantages and disadvantages.

But he is not afraid of wasps, and protection from phylloxera and care is a very small price to pay for such tasty and fragrant grapes, a nutmeg bouquet of which you hardly find.
