Muscatelled grape varieties are particularly popular with winegrowers.
They do not just satisfy consumer wishes, but also serve as good raw materials for some wines.
Through long-term breeding, certain types of nutmeg became available for cultivation even in the middle lane with changeable climatic conditions, one of which is Muscat Dievsky.
What kind is it?
Muscat Dievsky refers to the dining form of white grapes, which is characterized by early ripening.
The flower of this variety is bisexual and, like the Black Panther and Aladdin, does not require additional pollination.
Other Muscat varieties include Muscat Hamburg, Muscat Summer and Muscat Bely.
Variety description
- The berries of Diev muskat are white, with full ripening a yellow tint appears. The average weight of a berry is 17-20 grams, oval in shape, closer to the ovoid shape.
The taste of fruit is harmonious, with unobtrusive nutmeg aftertaste. Berry has a rather dense skin, which is almost not felt when consumed, and fleshy juicy flesh. Even in some unfavorable years, berries are not prone to pea;
- Clusters of conical shape, very large, with medium friability. The weight of one reaches 600-800 g. The berries are held tightly enough and are well transported;
- The vine ripens well, at least 2/3 of the entire length, and the bushes are distinguished by great growth. Cuttings quickly root and are compatible with most rootstocks;
- The leaf is round, slightly dissected, the bottom has a slight bristly pollination.

Breeding history
This grape is the result of amateur selection of A.A. Goluba, which was obtained by pollinating Atlanta Zaporozhye with a mixture of different types of pollen in 2008.
Specifications
Variety refers to the early ripe formsThe growing season until the berries fully mature is about 115-120 days. In the middle belt conditions, the crop can be harvested in mid-August.
Among the early ripening varieties are known Kishmish 342, Julian and Gordey.
Productivity is quite high.
Pruning is carried out on an average of 4-6 eyes, while to prevent overloading the plant, it is necessary to normalize the harvest.
The optimal load on an already formed plant is 45-50 eyes. Short pruning is done on 2-4 peepholes.
The variety is quite unpretentious and withstand adverse climatic conditions.
The same signs have Aleshenkin Dar, Delight Perfect and Giovanni.
Frost resistance is kept at a standard level and is -23⁰С when grown in uncovered conditions.
After ripening, the berries can stay on the bush for a long time, without losing their appearance and taste.
Diseases
The berries of Diev muskat have dense skin that does not allow wasps to damage the crop. To combat other pests (spider mites, aphids), it is sufficient to carry out standard preventive measures, which include:
- Careful inspection of the root system of seedlings before purchasing it. This will protect the future plant from the defeat of the grape aphids, which is transferred to the site in the roots of the vine;
- Thinning plants and creating an optimal air regime. Such activities will not only prevent the occurrence of the leafworm and mite, but also help to quickly detect the pest and diseases that have appeared;
- Removal and destruction of pest-damaged parts of grapes, as well as weeds. Getting rid of the affected leaves will prevent pests and diseases from spreading further, and clearing weeds will prevent the pests from transferring to the grapes.
It is characterized by increased resistance to fungal diseases: to gray rot, oidium and mildew at the level of 3.5-4 points. Despite this, preventive spraying with biological preparations before flowering and before the formation of berries are required. Such activities will prevent possible diseases and help preserve the future crop without harm to the plant and man.
Also, do not neglect the prevention of such diseases as anthracnose, chlorosis, bacteriosis, rubella and bacterial cancer. Read more about this in separate articles of our site.
