Russian animals will receive electronic passports

All animals, except wild, can get an electronic passport in a couple of years. A roadmap for the identification of quadrupeds is being developed in Russia. One of the most common ways is to implant a radio magnetic chip under the skin of a pet. This chip is very small, the size of a rice grain and injected under the skin with a syringe. To read its data using a special device that can be found in almost every Russian veterinary clinic. After the procedure, the received unique number is recorded in an international database, where you can also find out all the information about the animal: the nickname, breed, vaccinations, and information about the owners. In case of loss of a pet, it can be easily found.

The popularity of chip installation has increased in Moscow over the past two years, especially among owners of pedigreed cats and dogs, and animals that are about to leave the country. By comparison, Europe and America have been practicing chip-making for a long time, which has become a mandatory procedure.

The Russian single pet accounting database will be launched next year. The first in the queue for e-passports will be large farm animals, and in a year, the procedure will include small cattle, cats and dogs. Without a passport will not remain even fish and bees.
