Growing grapes
To grow this variety yourself, you need to follow the rules of planting and caring for them.
Landing
Consider the planting of the variety Rombik in the autumn period (from the beginning of October until the beginning of frosts). For this you need:
- Choose a sunny place without drafts.
- Dig holes under the seedlings at a distance of 2 m from each other 50 cm inland, putting the fertile layer of earth to the side.
- Put a layer of drainage in the form of rubble or pieces of bricks on the bottom of the pits.
- Pour fertile soil in a second layer in a mixture with organic fertilizer (humus, horse or cow dung) and phosphorus-potassium composition.
- Before planting the seedlings in the prepared soil, it is necessary to cut their roots by 2-3 mm and place the seedlings in clean water for 2 hours. After that, in the hole you need to make a mound and plant the next bush, while straightening its roots. Sprinkle a seedling with earth, carefully tamp and pour with warm water (20-30 liters per bush).
- After all this, the plant should be sprinkled with mulch: sawdust, straw or dry leaves. It is recommended to cover seedlings for the winter with a covering material, such as agrofibre.
Important! After the frost has passed, do not forget to remove covering material from the grapes in a timely manner. If he is too stuffy, the fruits will not ripen or disappear.
Care features
It is possible to look after this grade. Feed the grapes with chicken manure, manure, compost from rotten plants. It is useful to water the roots with boric acid before flowering and after the discovery of the first ripe berries. This will help strengthen the ovary of the plant.
Grapes require abundant watering during the first intensive period of growth. After this, the frequency and volume of watering should be reduced so that the shoots can stop their growth before the first frost.
Pruning is necessary to rejuvenate the plant and the future of a good harvest. This is done in the autumn period before covering the plant for the winter. And in the spring should cut off the shoots frozen over the winter.
Important! In the summer period, do not forget to make a staving and remove weak and deformed shoots.
Diseases and control measures
If you properly care for these grapes, he has every chance of being healthy and not getting sick.
But still in rare cases, he may undergo some diseases.
- Mealy dew (oidium) - damages the green part of the vine. Leaves can become covered with white bloom and give off a nasty rotten smell. At the same time inflorescences may fall off. You should buy the fungicide "Kvadris" or "Flint" and spray them with grapes in the morning or evening before the appearance of inflorescences.
- Mildew (downy mildew) - A fungus that affects all parts of the plant, except the root. It manifests itself in the form of yellow and green spots. All leaves may fall off. A drug like Thanos has proven itself in the fight against mildew. Prepare a solution of the fungicide (4 g per 10 l of water) and spray the grapes 3 times with an interval of 8-12 days. To prevent the occurrence of fungus, ventilate the vineyard, tear out weeds around the plants, and remove fallen leaves.
- Anthracnose (grape pox) - With this disease, leaves begin to fall off, holes are formed on them, red spots appear on the berries, and dents appear on them. The plant is threatened with death. Can help spraying Bordeaux liquid (1%). It is best to apply it as a prophylaxis 2-3 times over the summer.
