Basic requirements for the mother liquor
Since in the wild nature, the rabbit babies give birth in an underground hole, where they feel safe and comfortable, the quiver should be made as close as possible to the natural conditions - it should be dark, warm, moderately spacious.

Middle breeds

- width - 35 cm;
- height - 30 cm;

- 3 mm thick plywood sheets;
- wooden boards 2.5 cm thick;
- slats with a cross-section of 2.5x2.5 or 2.5x3 cm;
- hinges;
- insulation (wood chips will do);
- galvanized sheet.
You will also need the following tools:
- hammer;
- screwdriver or screwdriver;
- tape measure or ruler;
- nails;
- pencil;
- saw;
- self-tapping screws.
Instructions for making
Step by step action looks like this:
- We cut out the walls of the future queen from plywood sheets. They will be in the form of rectangles. There should be 12 rectangles in total.
- Four will go to the front and back wall. We cut them 56 cm long, 30 cm wide and 30 cm high.
- From 4 more we prepare side walls 35 cm long, 30 cm wide and 30 cm high.
- The remaining 4 rectangles will go to the lining of the bottom and cover. They should be cut 56 cm long and 30 cm wide.
- Preparing slats. They need to cut 14 pieces.
- Eight rails cut length of 56 cm. They will go to the frame of the front and rear walls, as well as the cover and bottom.
- We cut six slats with a length of 31 cm. From them we will knock down the framework of the side walls.
- We proceed to the sheathing of the mother liquor. To do this, take one rectangle of plywood and fill it with a wooden frame from the rails.
- Top cover with an identical sheet of plywood and nail it. One wall is ready.
- In the same way we prepare the remaining 2 walls, floor and cover. Do not touch only the wall in which the hole will be located.
- Half of the 4th wall (if we plan to warm the structure), in the place where there will be a hole, we sheathe with solid boards, and the remaining half we stud with rails and we sheathe with plywood.

- We assemble the box, connecting the walls and the bottom with nails.
- To the upper edge of the rear wall with screws, fasten the hinges for the cover. It will be foldable, which means that the mother liquor will become easier and more convenient to clean.
- We put a cover on loops.
Important! The litter will need to be changed regularly so that it is always dry. Otherwise, the rabbit will be uncomfortable in the mother liquor, and babies can get sick from dampness. For a pregnant rabbit, it is advisable to replace the straw once a week, or more often if necessary. When rabbits appear, the litter is replaced once every 2 days in the first week and every day after this period.
- We put a litter of dry straw on the floor, preferably with a thick layer of not less than 20 cm. The mothercap is ready to start the rabbit.

As is known, adult rabbits may be in an unheated cage, but a pregnant female, and even more so with babies, requires special care.
