Ukrainian scientists have brought artificial fat

For the first time in history, artificial fat was extracted by the hands of Ukrainian scientists. Salo from a test tube - this is the name of the product, obtained as a result of research by scientists of Sumy Agrarian University, Department of Food Technologies.

This was told Denis Bidyuk, associate professor. He noted that his research team had previously managed to invent fully recyclable dishes suitable for all types of cooking.

  • According to Denis, the main goal of the experiments was the invention of a product that would have the taste and external qualities of fat, such a favorite product for Ukrainians, but contain less cholesterol harmful to the human body. Initially, artificial lard was planned to be used in sausage production in order to reduce the nutritional value of sausage products. For the manufacture of "fat from the tube," used vegetable oil and gelatin.

    Associate Professor of the department notes that due to the origin of lard, its fat content can vary from 20% to 80%, and there is also the possibility of making lard with different tastes - from garlic to sweet. The pricing policy of a new product is simple: its price depends on the price of the main ingredient - vegetable oil. Full production of an independent product is planned to be launched in November.
