A hybrid does not form a stem; nevertheless, with the careful formation of a plant, it can be grown into one stem. Compact crown, medium degree of foliage and a powerful root system allow you to grow it without support, but this does not exclude the risk of overwhelming the bush.

The term of ripening of fruits of a hybrid is early. The first fully ripe fruits can be collected within 85-95 days after the emergence of mass shoots.

When February or March sowing, conditioned seedlings can be grown in open ground. Direct sowing is practiced in the southern regions, but in the northern regions it is better to plant this hybrid in greenhouses.

Due to the very early fruiting and active growth at the beginning of the growing season, Argonaut tomato simply does not have time to get under the wave of the spread of phytophthora and other diseases, the peak of infection in which falls in August and September.

  • The fruits of the first generation hybrid Argonaut are distinguished by their leveled surface and bright coral color.
  • Pulp of saturated taste, very dense, seed chambers are small, in one fruit - up to 9 pieces.
  • The average fruit weight is about 180 g.
  • A distinctive feature of the fruits of this hybrid is high commercial quality and stability during transportation and storage.

According to the description of the manufacturers, the hybrid has a universal purpose. It is well suited for canning in the form of salads and whole-salted salting. No less tasty tomato and salads from fresh vegetables. For the preparation of juices, the Argonaut fruits are also suitable, but they turn out to be sour.

What are the finer points of growing early varieties of tomatoes every gardener needs to know? What varieties of tomatoes are resistant to most diseases and high-yielding?

The advantages of the hybrid Argonaut a lot. The most valuable, according to gardeners, is high yield and earlier fruiting. Among the summer residents, the variety got the nickname “super-automatic” for its resistance to diseases and stable fruiting.

Among the shortcomings, reviews mention only the need to tie up the plants to the pegs, because, despite its low height, the bush has a tendency to "collapse". The main feature of the variety is the alignment of fruits obtained from a single plant. Their size, color and shape completely coincide with each other.

All this allows growing tomatoes not only for their own consumption, but also for sale.

Features of growing

Argonauta seeds can be sown from the beginning of April, and young seedlings are placed in the ground at the end of May. It is recommended to form a bush in three stalks with tying to pegs.

After the flowering, the steps are practically not formed; therefore, for a more uniform growth and ripening of the fruits, it is necessary only to tear off the leaf shades of the brush. Top dressing is recommended to be carried out organic, up to 4 times per season.

Diseases and pests

The hybrid is practically not affected by the diseases customary for greenhouse tomatoes. To completely eliminate the risk of plant damage by infections, it is possible to treat the bush with Fitosporin. Among the pests, only the bears are dangerous. You can fight with them by special means or by regular loosening the soil under plantings and adding pepper to it.

Despite the complete simplicity and undemanding to the growing conditions, tomato hybrid Argonaut F1 is a very valuable variety for growing on the plot. Beautiful and tasty fruits of this variety are able to fully satisfy the needs of summer residents.
