China has become Russia's largest food export partner.

China bypassed Turkey and became the best exporter of Russian food products. At the end of the year 2016, total food exports in China amounted to more than $ 1 billion. Russia has all chances to become one of the key food suppliers in China, along with the USA, Brazil, Australia, Thailand and other countries. The expansion of the product line is one of the key factors that will ensure this growth.

Today, China is the most interested in buying Russian meat products. Russian pork will appear on the Chinese market this year, poultry and beef in 2019. Countries are completing negotiations to ease restrictions on the supply of meat products from Russia to China. According to Peter Shelakhkhaev, director general of the Far Eastern Export Support Agency, Chinese consumers consider Russian food safe and “clean” as products from Western countries.
