Useful properties of propolis

Propolis tincture recipe

Consider two options for making tinctures.

On alcohol

Before you make a propolis tincture on alcohol, you need to prepare the necessary ingredients and materials. It is recommended to keep it in bottles of dark glass. Also for one portion of tincture you will need to purchase:

  • 80 g of propolis itself;
  • 300 ml of medical alcohol.

However, the proportions in this case will be different - 0.5 liters of vodka will be required per 80 g of propolis. But it is impossible to use moonshine for these purposes, since fusel oils and various chemical impurities can neutralize the healing properties of bee glue.

Rubbed propolis needs to be filled with clean cold water, thanks to which pure substance will settle to the bottom, and all unnecessary impurities and debris will float to the surface. Five minutes for this cleaning will be enough, then the water from the propolis is drained, and it is left to dry completely.

Mixing and insisting propolis on alcohol

Prepared bee glue is poured into a pre-washed and dried bottle, then pour it with alcohol or vodka. Be sure to shake the bottle so that the propolis rises from the bottom and mix well with the liquid. After this bottle as tightly corked.

The process of propolis insisting on alcohol can occur at room temperature, only the container with it should be put in a dark place and shaken daily. To get the tincture will take at least 2 weeks. The shelf life of such tincture does not exceed 3 years.
