EU plans to reduce the quota for duty-free supplies of Ukrainian corn

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovogo, today the European Commission is discussing the possibility of reducing the quota for duty-free supplies of corn from Ukraine. It should be noted that since the beginning of 2017, Ukraine has already filled quotas for the supply of corn to the EU at the level of 400 thousand tons. According to Kutovoy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy considers the EU’s position premature and completely wrong.

Recall that in the framework of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, the latter can deliver 36 commodity items to the European Union without any customs duties and within the framework of the approved tariff quotas. Quotas for the supply of corn amounted to 400 thousand tons.
