On Friday, March 14, the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation. Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, presented at the meeting a report on preparations for the spring sowing campaign and the spring field work in general.
The Minister noted the start of work a week earlier than in the past few years. The reason for this was the favorable weather conditions, which made it possible to start planting as early as February 24.

According to the report, one of the main problems that complicates spring field work is the increase in prices on the fertilizer market. In order to avoid the difficulties associated with fertilizing, the Minister in his report asked the Federal Antimonopoly Service to pay attention to the volumes of mineral fertilizers produced. Their reduction, he said, will help stabilize prices and make them affordable for domestic farmers.
