Radishes and local cucumbers are cheaper in Ukraine

Ukrainian markets are gradually flooding the party of early vegetables of the domestic producer of the harvest in 2019. Against the background of increasing supply, the price for greenhouse cucumbers and radishes began to decline, Info-Shuvar reports.

According to analysts, domestic radish cultivated the imported vegetable from the market in mid-March. Now the majority of Ukrainian radish in the wholesale markets is sold in bundles at the price of 10-11 UAH / kg. The fall in prices for products over the last week was 15%.

  • This week the market welcomed a new product - radish without greens in large packages. Wholesale prices for it are 35 UAH / kg. The cost of radish this year is 40% less than at the end of March 2018.

    Prices for greenhouse cucumbers are also falling. Particularly severe decline in prices affected domestic gherkins closed ground. Their price for the “Shuvar” ORSP for the week decreased by 13%, which amounted to 50-60 UAH / kg. Compared to last year, they are 20% more expensive.

For a tomato on a branch, they ask for 40-45 UAH / kg, depending on the country of origin. So far, the market is dominated by imported tomato, and an increase in domestic product receipts is expected in early April.
