Turkey reduced poultry production

The production of chicken and turkey meat in Turkey for February of this year decreased by 7.6% compared with the same month of the previous year.

The production of poultry meat in Turkey declined in February, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat). Since only 91 million chickens were killed in February, which is 2.7% less than in the same month of 2018, chicken production decreased by 6.2% compared with the previous month and decreased by 4.9% in compared with the same month of the previous year.

The number of killed turkeys in February was 413 thousand, which is 5.9% less compared to the same month of the previous year. Meat production in Turkey decreased by 15.5% in February compared with the previous month and decreased by 7.6% compared with the same month of the previous year.

At the same time, the production of chicken eggs (1.6 billion pieces) increased by 2.6% compared with the same month of the previous year. For your information, in Ukraine the production of poultry meat and eggs has increased, as has the number of poultry stock, thanks to government support for the industry.
