Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantages of the variety include:

  • excellent taste of root crops;
  • Harvested well stored;
  • beautiful appearance of tubers, making them suitable for sale;
  • high nutrient content;
  • tolerance for the vagaries of weather;
  • resistance to major diseases.

There are practically no flaws in the variety. The features include sensitivity to irrigation and fertilizing, significantly increasing the yield.

Features of growing

Potatoes prefer a light, nutritious soil. For greater nutritional value, it is recommended to add humus and wood ash, preferably birch, to the soil.

For sowing, even root crops that are not smaller than chicken eggs are selected. Non-trade trifle for landing is not suitable. Before planting, the tubers are pickled and processed by a growth promoter.

You can germinate potatoes in the light or in wet sawdust. If the planting material is small, the potatoes are cut into pieces with eyes.

Planting is carried out when the soil warms to 10-12 degrees. In cold soil, tubers can rot. Shrubs are placed at a distance of 30-35 cm from each other with a row spacing of 60-70 cm. The depth is small, no more than 10-12 cm.

During the season you need at least 2 times to pile up the landing, forming high ridges. You can use both manual and mechanized method. In the dry summer, it is recommended to organize drip irrigation, significantly increasing the commercial quality of tubers.

If this is not possible, it is possible to irrigate the plantings 2-3 times abundantly, wetting the soil by 40-50 cm. To maintain the normal level of humidity and protect against weeds, it is recommended to mulch the soil with straw or cut grass.

Potatoes are sensitive to feedings. It is recommended to alternate mineral complexes on the basis of potassium with organic matter: diluted mullein or bird droppings. Enough 2 root dressings per season.

Useful and foliar spraying with an aqueous solution of superphosphate, carried out 10 days before digging.

Read more about how to feed the potatoes, when and how to apply fertilizers and which ones are the best, how to feed them properly.

A week before harvesting is recommended to cut the tops. Shrubs from which seed will be harvested should be noted in advance. They must be strong and strong, not infected by pests.

The excavated potatoes are dried on the border or under a canopy, sorted and cleans up in a cool dark place. Selected seed is stored separately.

Diseases and pests

Sort resistant to many dangerous solanaceous diseases: potato cancer, golden cyst nematode, various viruses: Alternaria, Fusarium, Verticilliasis, scab. For the prevention of late blight, a single spraying of plantings with copper-containing preparations is recommended.

Helps and regular change sites for landing. The potato feels best in the fields that have occupied legumes, meadow grasses, cabbage or oil radish.

Fresh green potato attracts Colorado potato beetles, and wireworms, bears, potato moths are also often threatened by planting. For prevention, you need to carefully weed, weed the soil, monitor the level of humidity.

In case of severe injuries, plantings are treated with industrial insecticides. Pre-seed dressing of tubers and soil shedding with disinfectants saves from wireworm. To combat the Colorado and its larvae, you can use both folk remedies and industrial chemistry: Aktara, Corado, Regent and Prestige.

Milady is a tasty and beautiful potato suitable for amateur or industrial cultivation. The main characteristic of the Milady potato variety is its yield.
