Tomatoes "Alpha": variety description

Alpha Tomatoes is a classic determinant shtamb type that is great for growing in areas with an unstable and cold climate. This superearly variety successfully bears fruit when seedlessly sown (fruits begin to ripen within 85 days after sowing!). When removing a few stepsons from the bottom of the stem, it forms a strong, stable stem. Plant height - from 40 to 55 cm. The stems are straight, thick, covered with leafy plates, resembling potato ones.

The variety of tomato "Alpha" in the middle lane is grown in open ground, and in belts with a harsh climate - under light film shelters or in unheated greenhouses.

Alpha variety tomatoes themselves are small, round, slightly flattened. The fruit color is bright red, the pulp is of moderate density, with few seed cells (there are no more than 6 in one tomato), the average fruit weight is 55 g. Tomatoes of this variety are not intended for long-term storage and transportation.

Specifications

The variety was produced by the Russian company Zedek, and included in the State Register of Seed Crops in 2004. Absolutely all climatic zones with the exception of the extreme north are suitable for growing tomato alpha. In the southern regions, it begins to bear fruit at the beginning of summer, and in the northern regions - by mid-July.

When harvesting in the whole-fruit way, the fruits burst, therefore they are recommended to be used fresh, as well as for blanks in the form of sauces and salads. The fruits also proved to be good when used in cooking: as a dressing for soups, for example, or for roasting whole on the grill. Despite the compactness of the bushes, Alpha tomatoes have a high yield. Up to 6.5 kg of ripe leveled sweet tomatoes can be collected per square meter of planting.

On the shortcomings of the variety Alpha there is practically no information. This tomato is characterized by a combination of unpretentiousness and high quality of small fruits. Due to early fruiting and limited growth, he manages to fully deliver the crop before the period of mass destruction of plantings with phytophthora and other fungal diseases.

Agrotechnology

Alpha is an actively growing variety, therefore for successful cultivation it is necessary to select places with fertile soil, well lit by the sun and without stagnant moisture. Alpha tomatoes do not need to be tied up and regularly pasiced. After removing the side shoots on the lower part of the stem and the formation of a trunk, it is necessary to periodically loosen the soil around the bushes and slightly spud the plants to form more roots.

It is recommended to feed plants with mineral fertilizers (complexes for tomatoes or universal mixtures) according to the instructions.

Diseases and pests

Tomato is resistant to most viral and fungal diseases. However, he needs prophylactic treatments with Bordeaux mixture or Fitosporin. When grown in open ground, only the bears can damage the plant, and they are found only in regions with a warm climate.

In the greenhouse, tomato alpha harms only whitefly. With these insects you can fight with a standard set of drugs (Actellic and Thunder).

Tomato Alpha is a very profitable variety for growing. The minimum of agrotechnical measures, undemanding to heat and light make it attractive for growing in the most unfavorable areas for agriculture.
