New bird flu outbreaks of the H5N8 strain have been reported throughout Europe. Two new outbreaks of the virus were discovered on Polish farms and household farms located in different regions, killing about 4,000 birds. The disease also affected 10 thousand birds on a Ukrainian farm in the Odessa region.
But not only farm birds suffered from the disease: last week in France, the virus was detected in wild birds, in addition to 34 outbreaks in poultry. In connection with the implementation of preventive measures for the slaughter of poultry in several regions of the country, it became aware of the spread of the flu, which is indicated by clinical symptoms. As a result, 52,000 farm birds were destroyed, and another 2,000 were destroyed by the virus.
In Germany, about 70 thousand turkeys had to be destroyed on farms in three different cities, where five outbreaks of the virus were detected. Also, a large number of diseased ducks in the Netherlands have already been reported.
Croatia reported new outbreaks of bird flu on a farm in the Zagreb region, where 40 birds died, as well as a number of outbreaks among wild birds in other areas. In the Czech Republic swans suffered from the disease.
In Slovakia, two new outbreaks of the virus were found in households, as well as outbreaks of the disease in wild birds. In Romania, as in the Czech Republic, the disease touched swans. In Greece, a bird flu attack fell on one of the poultry farms, as a result of which 28,000 birds were destroyed.
In the south-west of Russia, three farms suffered in several regions, in which 2530 birds died and more than 219 thousand were slaughtered to prevent the spread of the disease.
