State Grain Corporation of Ukraine avoids privatization

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to exclude the public joint-stock company of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine from the list of state property privatized in 2017. PJSC, known as the SCRPU, was established in 2010 and, according to their website, is the most powerful state-owned vertically integrated company in the agricultural sector and is a leader in the storage, processing, transportation and export of grain. It owns 10% of certified gas storage facilities and its port terminals handle up to 6% of annual grain export volumes, while the Corporation’s processing enterprises can provide up to 10% of domestic demand for flour, cereals and animal feed in the Ukrainian market.

The Minister of Agriculture noted that he “will allow improving the efficiency of the company’s operations and continuing effective cooperation with Chinese partners,” because, as we all know, government organizations are known for their efficiency.
