What else can you combine

Lingonberry itself can serve as an excellent basis for making jam without any additions, but if you want to experiment a little, you can add not only citrus fruits to the berries (they will add piquancy and mild sourness), but also some other not quite ordinary ingredients:

  • Green pine cones (pre-poured with water and soaked for 1.5 days, and after a 10-minute boil with the sugar and water add to them and cranberries). This jam will have an unusual appearance and the same flavor.
  • Rhubarb. Like citrus fruits, this product is characterized by a pleasant sourness, and when you consider that the lingonberries themselves are not without this characteristic, then for an optimal level of sweetness you will have to add more sugar. Rhubarb has long been successfully used in making jam, because it is able to keep its shape well and gives the finished dish a more festive look.
  • Cranberries and blueberries - the best friends of the described berries, which in combination with it create an incredible vitamin mix. Even 1 teaspoon of such a jam will have a positive effect on the state of the body during the period of seasonal viral infections, helping not only to prevent their development, but also to cope with the cause of the disease.

What to put on the table

Most often lingonberry jam is served with tea, but at the same time it goes well with a variety of pastries or even ordinary fried pancakes. If desired, you can make a roll or pie stuffing out of it, as well as incorporate it into vitamin cocktails. One of the most unusual ways to use the treat is to serve it with fried herring or meat dishes, although for this, the jam should be sweet and sour.
