The number of camels in Kazakhstan increased by 800 individuals

In February 2019, the number of camels in Kazakhstan increased, but not as significantly as last month.

In terms of regions, livestock dynamics turned out to be multidirectional. In some areas there was an increase in the number of individuals, in others - its reduction. In some regions, the number of camels remained at the same level. In the first month of this year, the livestock has not changed in 8 regions of the country. In five areas, livestock decreased by 500 individuals. The overall positive result was given to Kazakhstan by one Mangystau region, in which there was an increase in livestock.

  • As of January 1 of this year, 202.2 thousand heads of camels were registered in the country. Within a month, their number decreased by 0.8 thousand, which amounted to 0.4%. As of February 1, the number of camels was 20.4 thousand, an increase of 3.2 thousand in January, or 1.6%.

    As of March 1, there were 206.2 thousand camels in the country. That is, in February their number increased by 0.8 thousand heads or 0.4%, the report of the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.

  • At the same time, the number of camels increased in three regions, decreased in four, and did not change in seven. The number of camels increased in the Kyzylorda, Almaty, Turkestan regions. The decrease in livestock has affected Mangistau, Atyrau, Aktobe and Karaganda regions.
