Breeding history

There are several versions of the appearance of this variety.

  • According to the first version, “Krasnostop” is derived from “Cabernet Sauvignon”; his seedlings were brought to the Don land by the Cossacks after the campaigns to France in 1812.

Description and photo

"Krasnostop Zolotovsky" has some features that help distinguish it from other varieties. Consider a detailed description of the plant and fruit.

Bush

The shrub has small leaves with soft rounded outlines. They are characterized by a weak funnel shape, medium incision, the presence of 5 or 3 blades, which usually have a wide, blunt middle blade. The leaves have a brilliant bloom, on the reverse side thick webbed pubescence. The veins of the leaf and its stem are red with a tint of wine, color.

The bush itself has an average growth power. Shoots ripen early and well.

When growing grapes, a very important factor in yield, taste, plant immunity is a suitable climate, in difficult climatic conditions it is important to choose varieties specifically for Moscow region, Siberia, the Urals, the middle zone.

Bunches

The size of the clusters at the "Krasnostop" is small, sometimes it can reach a maximum value - up to 15 cm in length. The clusters have a conical shape, medium density and differ in friability, the largest have small blades at the base. Since the grapes are considered technical, it also has small, round, sometimes weakly oval berries. The color of them is dark blue, and a characteristic feature of the fruit is a thick bluish bloom, which covered all the berries. Fruits have a rather juicy sourish flesh and peel of medium thickness.

Characteristics of a variety

Consider the characteristics of the variety "Krasnostop Zolotovsky": how much harvest can be harvested from vineyards, when full ripening occurs, how the grapes tolerate the winter cold, as well as resistance to damage by various diseases and pests.

Yield

The variety is characterized by an average yield of about 6 tons per hectare, which does not greatly depend on the growing conditions.

Important! The only thing that should be in abundance when growing "Krasnostopa" - constant good-quality watering, natural or independent, artificial, which will maintain a stable soil moisture.
If the soil is kept in a dry state regularly, the bunch of grapes can be badly affected: the berries will become very small, the weight of the bunch will decrease. The yield of the bushes will drop significantly - up to 2-4 tons per hectare.

If the grapes grow on well-moistened soils, the clusters will become full, large and heavy. This will increase the yield to 8 tons per hectare.

Gestation period

The Krasnostop Zolotovsky is characterized by a middle ripening period. If the areas where the grapes grow, are distinguished by steppe conditions and non-irrigation (most often it is such characteristics of the growing place of this variety that can be found), the buds bloom in late April. Grapes bloom in early June, and the berries ripen in early August. Harvesting occurs at the beginning of September.

There are early grape varieties, pink, white, black, table, technical, nutmeg.

Winter hardiness

"Krasnostop Zolotovsky" is quite winter-hardy variety.

Important! If in winter the shoots of grapes were badly damaged by frost, then in spring it will quickly recover, as it has the ability to self-renew quickly.

Disease and pest resistance

Krasnostop's disease resistance is average: if the bushes are not cared for, the immunity will drop significantly and the grapes will become more vulnerable to fungal diseases.

The most dangerous diseases that are provoked by fungi are the defeat of mildew and oidium. They can affect not only the foliage and shoots of grapes, but also the harvest. Since, from the effects of fungi, the skin of the berries acquires a tendency to cracking, the fungus can easily penetrate inside, and from this the berries begin to rot and dry. Such a crop will become unsuitable for making wine. If you still make this drink from it, the wine will turn out to be of very poor quality and will not be able to be stored for a long time.

Also on the "Krasnostop" can settle and parasitize insect pests. Among the most common pests can be distinguished moth, grape variegation, grape mite, which impair fruit ripeness. If you do not fight with them, the wine from the "Krasnostop" get bad taste.

This variety is also vulnerable to mold damage, the most common of which is botrytis cynarea. However, this fungus does not harm the quality of the crop. On the contrary, it can have a positive effect on the quality of the berries and the wine produced from them, therefore it is also called the "noble fungus".
